non-ishiyoshi thing... i think...

... i've been looking back at generic statements (presumably straight) people say about gay people that i've heard for the past 16 years that i've been conscious of what's going on in the world...

this i think is the most said statement of them all:
(of course they say this in filipino but i translated it for our own good)
you can't be sure of someone who isn't sure about his/her own gender...

now, i was thinking about this since i heard someone say this about me...

initial reaction: WTF?!

now, i really find it funny how people jump into this conclusion of theirs...

we can derive some presumptions from the statement
(they=people who think this way)
:: they presume that 'gay' people all pass through a confusion stage about their gender
:: they think that gay people are confused all their lives

in hindsight i think that gay people can possibly be more sure of themselves than straight people.

because some actually really think about it... as in think...

why shouldn't we?

at seeing all the consequences of being who we are, i think people who really choose to be who they are and stand by their choice and have thought it out very well are more trustworthy than people who live their lives not thinking about it simply because they think 'it's the way it's supposed to be'

okay, word salad again...
