Revisiting the Past

I recently checked out the Runaway from the Past thread on JPH!P and found that it has been almost 5 years since I last posted an update on the fic.

I decided to read it from the start and it was fun.

I found myself to be a grammar criminal against humanity and began correcting what I had written.

It was a very different time when I wrote that story and I am slightly different from the person who wrote it.

I want to re-tell it as I am now but I think it is too tedious of a task to undertake especially now that I am in school again.

I might post the corrected and slightly revised version when I'm satisfied with it. I don't know.

Recent turn of events...

So... THAT happened.

In honesty, I was a little worried that it would never happen and our little theories in this corner of the world would be confirmed as truth. Worried??? Yes. I had a part of me expecting this to happen eventually because they ARE Japanese. I actually expected the other one to come out with a relationship(which wasn't what we wish it would be) to ultimately kill speculation on her orientation. I felt that the pressure was greater on her than on the one who actually broke all our hearts. But this was bound to happen. After all, one had categorically denied it already. For all we know, our speculation could have caused a rift between them or something. (Not US necessarily, because who the hell cares what WE think, but just this group of people who are wishing for IY to be true.)

Now, does this mean I'm disowning this belief I have of them? Not really. It was great when it was going on and we all had fun going through it all as audience. I don't know if any of it was true for any or both of them and I don't think it matters. Nor does it matter if I hold it as true.

I met great friends from going through that "phase" of fandom, learned lots of things. I regret nothing, even the silliest, most childish, craziest things I've done.

I don't know if there is anymore 1444 anything to come out of this place. I have not done anything 1444 in a very long while. But I'm keeping this up for as long as the site lets me stay here. This is a fun part of my life and I'd like to visit it as it always is.

Morning Musume on the Map

wow Greater Tokyo.

I tried to pinpoint as closely as possible the towns/cities our favorite idol group members are from but some wiki pages don't indicate that information. So I just got the prefectures down.

It was fun making this and pretty informative.

I like how messy Tokyo-Saitama-Kanagawa looks.

I also noticed that there aren't any members from Shikoku (the pink island) and that they only got a member from Tohoku at 10th gen (Masaki Sato). At first I was surprised that Kansai seemed under-represented but then I realized and was further surprised that none of them were from Osaka.

I'm thinking of making more infographics because Visual Aid Japan's (the one on wikipedia) on the transformation of Morning Musume  is so cool. Lemme put it here too:

ISN'T THAT FUCKING COOL!?!? the colors~

I recently compiled basic data on Morning Musume like their birthdays and blood types. Not really important things. But still fun to put together.

I was also looking through their discography but I thought making an infographic on that would be depressing especially when it comes to sales.

RANT. not IshiYoshi

Ha-hay...

It's so annoying when people talk about singers' voices on a record.

People, there are producers and singing coaches involved in the process.

They decide if the voice is good enough.

They decide how loud one singer is going to be. We're in the age of digital recording.

They apply modulation effects, to suit what they think is necessary.

When you are under a big label, there are professionals who can manipulate everything on the record.

You might be using the wrong headphones/earphones/speakers.

If the singer sucks live, then that's the singer's fault.

But to accuse singers of not knowing how to properly do things on a professionally recorded record (haha redundancy) is just full on assery.

interesting tidbits i pick up at work: New Half Day

Today is 4/4

one of my students told me this interesting thing

3/3 is girls' day
5/5 is boys' day

and 4/4 is "new half day" ... a recently declared gay holiday... well it isn't official.

but who cares?!

... the coincidence doesn't stop there, but if you know me, you know the next thing I'm going to say

...

...

and then, after that

i just randomly say:

ISHIYOSHI IS FO' REALZ

What I really miss...

I really miss the time when the most important thing in my life was IshiYoshi-ing

cuz i do have to admit that right now, there's just so much happening in my life and that i barely have the time to even check JPH!P for anything on either Rika or Yossy or both. whatever happened to 2ch or hatena or those uploaders??? OR OUR OWN FORUM!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!

I feel like I've lost the anticipation for anything and instead of waiting for things to drop and i'll catch it before it hits the ground, now i just wait for it to drop to the ground, roll on the floor and find its way to my feet.

i'm not the same hopeful as i was two or three years back. and i kinda miss being that person.

i would get into arguments with my girlfriend because the ishiyoshi-fake-kiss-incident was more important than anything that's happening in our own actual lives.

at that time, i didn't really care so much about other people's time and attention and acceptance

i didn't care that they didn't understand the stuff that i did.

I was always so excited and jumpy about IshiYoshi...

but it's like that person got buried in real life drama, politics and shit...

*sigh*

i am kinda sick of this "real life" thing

must be a coincidence...

so yesterday, we saw this blog post pic from Ishikawa-san:
It's very easy to say that it is a coincidence.

In fact, I would say it IS a coincidence.Pretty much how everything about us and around us is a coincidence.

Maybe you guys don't think about it this way... but because i am a crazy person i think like:

"isn't is amazing how you were born as who you are and everything that has happened in your life has led you to this point of reading this crazy blog post by a crazy person that you probably wouldn't be reading had you done ONE thing or a some things that would have led to a totally different result?

that's how i see this whole thing... the amazing thing isn't simply that coincidences happen... it's that from an infinitely variable set of possibilities, brought upon us by infinitely variable causes, such a coincidence can happen.

The Pink String of Fate

this is really something of interest to crazy people like me: fate and destiny

to me, fate is everything i have been set to do by things that are precedent of me. so, in a manner of speaking, i am bound to be, do and experience things simply because i am me.

destiny is everything i end up being, doing and experiencing because of or resulting from decisions i make off my fate.

i can go on and on in this topic but i won't

i'm just glad they were born as they have been, they did what they have done, and they experienced what they have experienced that made them fated to meet and destined to be IshiYoshi

AISU IS HOT

http://twitter.com/#!/Mg_icchiy/status/28685458318

thanks to cazza for the translation:

Rika's manager's twitter:

She previously stated there was a surprise in store for Yoshizawa Night and she revealed it after it was over~~~~

Quote
今日はLIVEで「愛すクリームとMyプリン」を歌いました。ちょっとしたサプライズとは、バニーの耳の登場。リハが終わってから、急いでスタッフが買い出しへ。 http://yfrog.com/mwegtij At today's live, they sang "Ice-cream to My Purin". The little surprise was they appeared in bunny ears. After the rehearsals, the staff had to quickly go buy them.

THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL

thanks to youjok for posting this pic in The Official ~IshiYoshi is Love~ Thread in DA CHUUCH OF CHARMY~ of JPH!P

a bit of rage

a couple of days ago, a good friend of mine and i were talking about the recent NYAF and Rika's involvement in it and obviously, we were talking about how awesome rika's reaction was to the fans

also, that friend and I also talked about how it seemed that yossy isn't as into the touring stuff as rika is...

...
and yes, anything contrary to that belief makes me rage

lols of casual ishiyoshiing now

i recently just remembered that i've always been the only ones to take rules (and other imaginary things) seriously

anyway, i think it's great that some people are reposting information on public places now... cuz a lot of those things, i have never seen ... or i've just forgotten... XD

i dunno, i think i just got to that point of not being curious enough to look things up myself, direct sources or otherwise, except on JPH!P

maybe i burned out... meh... whatever... that's not too important, ne?

so... yeah... for those who still haven't heard (even though i pretty much say it everywhere), i'm an english tutor to japanese people and it's very interesting... the things i learn from them

japanese culture straight from japanese people... in simple english

and then i realize that a lot of the assumptions i've made and were imposed upon me aren't necessarily true for many or most japanese

like how 'un' is more commonly used than 'hai' to say 'yes' to your peers. usually 'hai' is for responding to people senior to you (agewise or else) or to strangers

... hmmmm....

hi! i'm a new ishiyoshi fan..can i ask what's happening lately about them now? and what did you wrote to them?just a summary maybe?ekekeke.. thank you

hi!

i don't closely follow what's going on now but generally, outside their activities as musicians, they work apart appearing in dramas and talk shows. yossy also appears to be going into athletics, training for marathons. I can't say much other than that since that's all i know... if you want to follow them a little closer, http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?board=21.0 < is a good place to go

...hmmm... what i wrote to them? ... if you mean that card i gave them through daniel merlot in nagoya, my message was kinda short... i just told them that i admire them and want to emulate their sincerity (i really believe they are genuine and sincere people)... also, in behalf of my friends who also are fans, i told them that we will support them whatever path they choose to take.

Ask me anything
